How I Plan My First Three Months of 2025 to Be as a College-Going Girl: A Comprehensive Guide
As a college-going girl, life can feel like a whirlwind of responsibilities, aspirations, and the occasional craving for spontaneity. Balancing academics, social life, self-care, and hobbies while staying financially responsible might seem daunting and sometimes unachievable. However, nothing is impossible so here is a shot at planning my first three months of 2025 in the hope of success and a better mental state.
This year, I have decided to take control of my life by setting realistic and actionable goals across four key areas: finances, health, career, and hobbies.
Here’s how I plan to approach these areas and ensure a productive, balanced, and enjoyable month.
These goals are going to be tougher after each set and by the end of the year or 12 months, I will hopefully turn into the version of me I have always dreamt of being- the literal IT girl LOL!
Here are the four categories I thought would be suitable for all of us as well as templates for each of them:
Financial Goals: Building a Foundation of Responsibility

Financial independence and responsibility are crucial for any student. As someone who’s striving to manage her finances better, my January, February and March's financial plan focuses on saving, smart spending, and setting aside funds for future projects. Here’s the breakdown:
Save ₹75 Weekly-
Saving money starts small but grows big. By setting aside ₹75 each week, I’m building a habit of consistency. This amount may seem modest, but over time, it creates a buffer for unexpected expenses or opportunities.
Start Saving ₹100 Weekly for a Blog
Writing has always been a passion, and I dream of launching my own blog with my own domain without any brand name on it. To make this dream a reality, I’ll save ₹100 weekly specifically for this purpose. This disciplined approach ensures I have a dedicated fund for creative ventures without compromising daily needs.
Sell Old Books (₹300)
College life and being an avid reader often means accumulating books that are no longer needed. Selling them is a great way to declutter while earning extra cash. The ₹300 from this activity will go straight into savings.
Spending Limit of ₹175 Weekly
Setting a weekly spending cap ensures I don’t splurge unnecessarily. This budget will cover essentials while teaching me to prioritize my needs over wants.
Shop for Clothes Twice a Month
Fashion is fun, but moderation is key. Limiting clothes shopping to twice a month helps curb impulsive buying and encourages mindful purchases that add value to my wardrobe.
Guide Tip: Use apps like Expense Manager or a simple spreadsheet to track weekly savings and expenditures. This will help maintain financial discipline.

Health Goals: Prioritizing Wellness and Vitality

College can be taxing on mental and physical health, making self-care a priority. My health goals focus on hydration, fitness, and nutrition to ensure I stay energetic and confident. This section is especially for those who live a leisurely lifestyle and are looking for a good replacement for it!
Drink 3 Liters of Water Daily
Hydration is the cornerstone of health. I’ll carry a reusable water bottle and track my intake to ensure I meet this daily goal.
Go for Walks Three Times a Week
Walking is an accessible and effective form of exercise. These walks will not only boost my physical fitness but also serve as a mental health break from my studies and a time to evaluate.
Sleep on Time (Midnight)
A regular sleep schedule is non-negotiable. Sleeping by midnight ensures I get enough rest to function at my best during the day.
Do Skincare Regularly
Glowing skin isn’t just about products; it’s about consistency. I plan to follow a simple skincare routine tailored to my needs, focusing on cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection.

Eat Junk Only Twice a Week
Reducing junk food is crucial for better metabolism and weight management. Limiting indulgences to twice a week allows me to enjoy treats without guilt.
Guide Tip: Use a fitness tracker to monitor your steps and water intake. Incorporate quick, no-cook healthy recipes to make nutritious meals more convenient.

Career Goals: Setting the Stage for Success

As a student, the first three months are the perfect time to set career-oriented goals. These objectives will help me grow academically and prepare me for future opportunities.
Complete Reading The Song of Achilles
This acclaimed book is not only a literary masterpiece but also an enriching read for personal growth. I aim to complete it within January.
Start Reading American Gods
Following The Song of Achilles, I’ll dive into Neil Gaiman’s American Gods to expand my knowledge and appreciation of diverse genres.
Write Three Posts a Week
Consistent writing hones creativity and communication skills. Whether for my blog or personal journaling, this practice will improve my craft.
Start NPTEL
Enrolling in an NPTEL course is a step toward gaining certifications and learning new skills. This will also add weight to my resume, skillset and talent.
Prepare for a Course of Your Choice
If there is a field I’m passionate about, starting the preparations now will give me an edge when I officially take the course.
Guide Tip: Break down larger goals into smaller, actionable tasks. For example, set daily reading targets or allocate specific hours to writing and studying.
Hobbies and Entertainment: Balancing Work with Play

Life is about balance, and my hobbies ensure I’m enjoying myself while pursuing growth. Here’s what I plan for leisure:
Listen to Kanye West
Music is a constant companion in my life, and this month I’ll explore Kanye West’s discography for some indulgence in rap music and relaxation.
Experiment with New Makeup Looks
Makeup is a creative outlet for me. I’ll dedicate time to experimenting with different styles and techniques to elevate my skills.
Watch Three Movies
Movies offer a delightful escape. I plan to watch three films that inspire or entertain me, spanning various genres.
Complete Two Series
I’ll indulge in binge-worthy TV shows as a reward for meeting my weekly academic or health goals.
Listen to a Podcast (Ten Episodes Minimum)
Podcasts are a treasure trove of knowledge and entertainment. I’ll choose a series that aligns with my interests and immerse myself in at least ten episodes.
Guide Tip: Use a planner to block time for hobbies and entertainment. It ensures these activities complement rather than distract from your priorities.
The Bigger Picture: What I’ll Achieve in These Three Months
By following this plan, I’ll not only meet my January goals but also set the foundation for long-term growth. Here’s what I envision achieving by the end of three months:
Financial Security: ₹975 saved, plus additional earnings from selling books and other ventures.
Improved Health: A stronger metabolism, better hydration, and a 3.5 kg weight loss.
Career Progress: Broader knowledge base and practical steps toward a successful PR career.
Enhanced Creativity and Entertainment: Staying updated with trends and enjoying a well-rounded life.
This plan isn’t just about checking boxes—it’s about fostering habits that make life more fulfilling. It’s a commitment to myself to be disciplined, creative, and self-aware.
Are you inspired to create your own monthly plan? Whether you’re a college student like me or just someone looking to add structure to your life, take this as your cue to start planning for a better tomorrow! See you with some more of these after three months!
